Here in NYC, “limited workspace” is a given for most of us. But the ability to set up a stable and dependable work table or sawhorse on a job site is a great thing – even if your workshop is expansive. Think how useful the Centipede will be on your next installation!
The Centipede has an accordion-style mechanism so its lightweight but very sturdy steel legs can be pulled into a supportive base. Then add a Centipede worktop, a sheet of plywood, or just a couple of 2×4’s. To pack up, lift off the top and squeeze the legs back into the folded position and slip into the compact zippered bag. Made from hollow steel tubing, the Bora Centipede is supremely lightweight, yet because of its sturdy diagonal brace construction, it’s capable of supporting huge loads.
The Centipede works very well with precision track saw systems like Festool’s. You’ll appreciate the Centipede’s well-thought-out design, which features deep valleys between posts to provide clearance for saw blades and router bits, and the Quick Clamps that slip into the polymer tops to hold your worktop or your material in place. The Centipede has won many awards from magazines for its design, including the “Editors Choice Award” from Tools of the Trade and a “Top 100 Products” from both This Old House magazine and Pro Remodeler magazine.
We’re offering several different size options for the Centipede. All sets include Clamps that firmly grip your material in place, and X-Cups, which hold 2x4s on edge or face to create horizontal supports for your work.
To create a continuous work surface, just throw some plywood on the Centipede or get some Centipede tabletops. The Centipede tabletops attach securely to the base with six twist lock handles so you don’t have to worry about your work surface slipping out from under your project. Each Centipede Top measures 23-3/4″ x 47-1/2″ and is hinged in the middle for easy storage and portability. Depending on the size of your Centipede workstand, you may need more than one top for full coverage, if full coverage is desired. The CK22TM tabletop has metric dog holes (20 mm) evenly spaced across the surface and is fully compatible with all Festool MFT accessories.
