The DTS 400 REQ is a great all-around lightweight sander that uses an innovative ironing board shaped sheet of sandpaper 6″ long by 4″ wide to combine the coverage of a normal orbital sander with the accessibility you get with a detail sander.

The DTS 400 REQ is an upgrade over the longstanding favorite DTS 400 with 25% more power. The REQ also comes with a protector that envelopes the tool to prevent the pads from making contact with adjacent surfaces protecting both the surface as well as the pads of the sanders. Other improvements include improved ergonomics, rubberized grip textured surfaces and a more
robust power switch resulting in a longer lifecycle with greater ease-of-use.

The DTS 400 REQ is especially useful when you’re doing a lot of overhead and vertical surface sanding with lots of little nooks and crannies – you’ll save a lot of time compared to using a disk sander followed by a detail sander. The DTS 400 is a true orbital sander with a 5/64″ (2mm) stroke. This sander’s light weight (under 2 1/2 lbs.), ergonomic handle grip and vibration stop balancing minimizes fatigue, and the “stepless” speed control allows versatile use. This is a great sander for hard to reach points such as beads, corners and assembled cabinets. You’ll get full-area, orbital motion sanding into every corner.
